Arjun Tendulkar delivers under pressure to help Mumbai win three on a trot

Mumbai Indians defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday, 18th April by 14 runs. Arjun Tendulkar defending 20 runs in the last over showed great composure to help MI register their third win of the tournament.

Jr Tendulkar delivers under pressure

Nerves were seen as the 23-year-old started bowling the last over. The left-arm seamer with a baggage of expectations delivered under pressure. He executed some brilliant yorkers in the last over. He missed some yorkers terribly bowling wides and full tosses, but it didn’t cost them much in the end. The junior Arjun Tendulkar picked the maiden wicket of his career on the second last ball of the innings by picking up the wicket of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. The skipper Rohit Sharma caught Bhuvi at the covers to help Arjun his maiden IPL wicket. He ended with the figures of 2.5-0-18-1.

By dismissing both Jason Behrendorff and Rahul Tripathi early in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s chase of 193, Jason Behrendorff rattled the opposition. The chase then appeared to be getting back on track thanks to Aiden Markram and Mayank Agarwal, but the SRH captain ultimately lost against Cameron Green.

Following Aiden Markram’s declaration that Sunrisers Hyderabad would bowl first after winning the toss, Rohit Sharma produced a carefree opening knock that lasted exactly 18 balls before he was bowled by T Natarajan. Since then, the Mumbai Indians have had trouble building any momentum. Ishan Kishan failed to score after making 38 out of 31, and Suryakumar Yadav left after hitting a six. With the help of two outstanding catches from SRH captain Aiden Markram, both players were dismissed by Marco Jansen in the same over.

They gained momentum throughout Tilak Verma’s brief innings. He scored 37 runs in just 17 balls to help MI before the final few overs. After that, Cameron Green seized control and quickly reached his half-century in just 33 balls. After the five-time champions scored over 60 runs in the final five overs, Green and Tim David gave MI the winning touch to help  MI put a competitive 192 runs on the board.
