Angelo Mathews’ Brother Trevin Mathews Threatens Shakib Al Hasan Saying “Stone Will Be Thrown At Him” If He Comes In Sri Lanka To Play Any Match

The match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka witnessed a bizarre moment in the history of the World Cup with Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews becoming the first player in World history to get dismissed ‘timed-out’ over an appeal by Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan. The decision by Shakib to not withdraw the appeal against Mathews has generated a lot of sparks among the Sri Lankan fans with Angelo’s brother, Trevin Mathews issuing warning to Shakib if he ever comes to Sri Lankan soil for playing any international matches or LPL matches. 

“Stones will be thrown at him”: Trevin

Trevin Mathews while speaking to a newspaper company asserted “We are very disappointed. The Bangladeshi captain has no sportsman spirit and did not show humanity in the gentleman’s game. Shakib is not welcome in Sri Lanka. If we comes here to play any international or the LPL matches, stones will be thrown at him or he will have to face the annoyance of fans.” 

He firmly stated that despite being given a chance to withdraw the appeal, he decided to go for it to dismiss Angelo. Shakib Al Hasan, on the other hand during the post match presentation affirmed that on his decision, he confirmed with the umpire that if the appeal was within the laws of the game.
