The IPL 2024 season has finally come to an end on Sunday, after finishing 74 matches amongst the 10 competing teams. The match was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sun Risers Hyderabad, the two challenging finalists in Chennai.
SRH won the toss and opted to bat first at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. The team made a new record by scoring the lowest runs in an IPL finale, with 113 runs.
KKR countered this with the fastest run chase ever in the history of IPL finals and won the match by scoring 114 runs in 10.8 overs.
Andre Russell on ShahRukh Khan
After yesterday’s match, KKR’s star player Andre Russell couldn’t stop himself from complimenting the KKR franchise co-owner and bollywood superstar ShahRukh Khan.
Khan was present at the match, supporting the team along with his daughter Suhana Khan, son Aryan Khan and their friends Ananya Panday and Shanaya Kapoor. ShahRukh and Suhana were captured during a heartwarming embrace after KKR won the match.
We have seen time and again how
ShahRukh does not shy away from taking bold steps to support his team. This was seen in a video when ShahRukh made the KKR management and players take a picture in the “flying kiss” pose, despite Harshit Rana getting penalised for the same.
Seeing all these actions, it is safe for a viewer to assume that the owner and players have a great bond from these clips. Andre Russell seems to support the idea, as he complimented Khan.
Andre Russell said “Shah Rukh Khan is an amazing owner, we are lucky to have an owner like him, this is a proper gift for him”.
“This franchise has done a lot for me. This is a gift from all of us to them” he added.
ShahRukh’s bond with Rinku Singh
KKR’s new star Rinku Singh shares a warm bond with the franchise’s world renowned superstar owner.
In several viral videos Rinku was seen hugging ShahRukh while they said the team’s victory was “God’s plan”. ShahRukh was also seen embracing Rinku after the deserving batsman was announced as merely a reserve player for the Indian Cricket Team for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Rinku was an underdog who got a massive opportunity to show his brilliant talent through KKR. The franchise was right in offering him a spot in the IPL 2018. Before KKR, Singh was a part of Punjab Kings in 2017, who didn’t give him an opportunity to play.
Under KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir’s genius planning and captain Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy, the team has flourished and won their third IPL trophy.
