An additional T20I to be played between India W and South Africa W

The five-match T20I series between India Women and South Africa Women was a disappointment for the audience due to heavy rain. So the managements came together to arrange another match on October 3 to make this series a six-match one.

An addition T20I at Surat

Continuous heavy rain at Surat resulted in two washouts after the first match was won by Indian eves. Indians also won the fourth match to clinch the series 2-0. But this resulted in overall disappointment for the cricket lovers and the visitors as well. Eventually, the management decided to organize an additional T20I to make up for the two abandoned games. So the series will now be a six-match one, with the final game of the series being played on October 4. The fifth match of the series will be hosted at Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, Surat on Thursday, which was a rest day before the closing encounter on Friday.

India Women will walk into the field with 2-0 lead in the series. They won two games no wonder they would start as favourites with the upper hand over the South Africas. But on the other hand, this is a golden chance for South Africa Women who still have a chance to draw the series. If they win the next two games the series will be drawn whereas a single loss will hand over the series to Indians.

What to expect

There is still a forecast for rain in the morning which is likely to get some rest in the evening. So hopefully the purpose of organizing this match will be fulfilled and the audience will get to see four hours of uninterrupted cricket. The wicket is still spin-friendly and that is certainly good news for the hosts. The ways Indian spin attack threatened the South African batters in the previous two matches, another great showcase might be on the plate.
