After winning the match against the Netherlands, South Africa captain Aiden Markram shared his thoughts about the game and team efforts. He also credited his players for winning the match despite losing wickets.

At the post-match, SA skipper Aiden Markram said, “ It was nerve-racking. Got to give credit to them and also credit to us upfront (with the ball.) It’s a game of a cricket, they (Netherlands) have proved that they can beat best teams. They have beaten us twice (in ICC tournaments), not a mental block or something. The game of cricket makes it a bit tricky. We are moving forward as a squad. Sometimes the wins are going to be convincing. To squeeze a win out of that (12/4) situation, it’s good for the team environment. If compared to the first game, I think the wicket played well today. It was better than the first game. We have been good in the field and with the ball. We need to get some confidence while batting, especially while batting at the top.”

South Africa’s Batting Innings:

Despite losing 4 crucial wickets at the first powerplay, David Miller and Tristan Stubbs tried to balance the innings. They made a beautiful partnership and balanced their innings. Tristan Stubbs scored 33 runs from 37 balls. His innings, though not explosive, provided stability to the team. Following Stubbs’ dismissal, David Miller remained unbeaten, showcasing exceptional batting prowess. Miller’s unbeaten innings of 59 runs came off 51 balls, featuring three boundaries and four sixes, at a striking strike rate of 115.69. His composed presence at the crease, coupled with aggressive shot-making, played a pivotal role in steering the team towards a competitive win.
