After a Heavy 7-Wicket Loss Against Pakistan, Bangladesh Becomes the First Team To Get Knocked Out of The Tournament

After a thumping 7-wicket loss against Pakistan, the Bengal Tigers became the first team to get knocked out of the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Despite having won the toss and opting to bat first, Bangladesh could not manage to restrict Babar’s men within the delivered target and suffered its 6th defeat of the tournament. 

After having batted first, Bangladesh delivered a target of 205 runs to Pakistan getting bowled out in 45.1 overs. On the other hand, Pakistan reached the target within just 32.3 overs with a loss of just 3 wickets. Meanwhile, Babar Azam and Co. registered their first victory after three consecutive defeats, also the 3rd victory of the ongoing tournament. 

Who were the top scorers for Bangladesh today? 

After having opted to bat first, Mahmadullah scored 56 off 70 balls and remained as the top scorer for Bangladesh today. He was followed by Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan who smashed 45 and 43 runs respectively. They actually got off to a humiliating start after Tanzid Hasan was dismissed for a duck. 

A brilliant knock indeed

Pakistan have finally climbed up to the fifth position after securing third win of the tournament and having registered 3 consecutive defeats before today’s game. For the Men in Green, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr. were the main heroes in the bowling unit, having scalped 3-wickets each. Opener Abdullah Shafique went on to smash 68 runs with Fakhar Zaman smashing 81 runs adding two fifties to their run chase and successfully managing to chase off the target. The Men in Green seem to make a powerful comeback and finally they can hope to make to make it to semifinals after a set to contradictory win situations.
