The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to showcase the new jersey through a video highlighting its significance. The design draws inspiration from the Lapis Lazuli region and Afghanistan’s rich tribal heritage.

“Presenting Before You, AfghanAtalan’s Jersey for the #T20WorldCup! This attire symbolizes Afghanistan’s unity with its tribes and the picturesque Lapis Lazuli region, along with an illustration of wheat, bringing a captivating touch to the stadiums,” read the ACB’s post.

Afghanistan will kick off its T20 World Cup campaign against Uganda on June 3, 2024, at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Placed in Group C alongside New Zealand, the West Indies, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda, Afghanistan faces a challenging path to qualification. However, early wins could establish them as the tournament’s dark horse.
