Former Australian cricket captain Aaron Finch has candidly addressed his struggles against Indian swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The revelation came in response to a question from a Twitter user, who inquired about Finch’s difficulties facing the medium pacer. The 36-year-old cricketer admitted that despite his best efforts, he was unable to conquer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s skilful bowling.

For those not familiar with the history, Bhuvneshwar Kumar managed to dismiss Aaron Finch on four consecutive occasions in ODIs during the year 2019. Finch, a right-handed batter, registered scores of 6, 6, 14, and a duck in those encounters. Kumar’s dominance extended beyond ODIs, as he also claimed Finch’s wicket twice in T20Is and once in the IPL 2016.
When a Twitter user queried, “Why did Bhuvi trouble you a bit? Could you elaborate? Is it your feet coming across?”, Finch offered a cheeky response by quote-retweeting: âYep!! Tried for 15 years to stop that happening.â

Aaron Finch officially retired from international cricket in February of this year. Throughout his illustrious career, he represented Australia in five Test matches, 146 ODIs, and 103 T20Is. His total runs amassed across formats amounted to an impressive 8804, accompanied by 19 centuries and 51 half-centuries.
Notably, Finch’s leadership prowess was most prominent in T20Is, where he emerged as Australia’s most successful captain. In 76 matches under his leadership, the team secured 40 victories. The pinnacle of his captaincy career came when he guided Australia to their first-ever ICC T20 World Cup title in 2021.
Having retired from international duties, Finch took part in the inaugural Major League Cricket as a member of the San Francisco Unicorns. However, his performance in the league was modest, contributing just 68 runs in five matches. Finch’s revelation about his ongoing battle against Bhuvneshwar Kumar has had the fans in fits, with people sharing memes all over the internet.
