Over 1000 players registered for the IPL auction 2018

The IPL auction for the year 2018 is just around the corner and it is making all the buzz these days. The 8 franchises earlier announced their retained players for the auction and now they will have a task of building the team around those players. The auction is set to be held in Bengaluru on January 27th and 28th.

The franchises will have a huge pool of players to choose from as a total of 1122 players have signed up for the IPL auction. The IPL Governing Council had accepted the registrations until January 12th and a massive response has been received from around the cricketing world.

The list includes 281 capped players, 838 uncapped players including 778 Indians and 3 from the associate nations. The IPL is getting bigger and better with each passing year and the 11th edition is expected to bring a hell lot of excitement.

Big Indian players like Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan will go under the hammer while the overseas players like Chris Lynn, Ben Stokes, Colin Munro are expected to bag the heftiest bids.

Among the overseas countries, Australia constitutes the highest number as a total of 58 players have signed up. Next on the list is South Africa from where 57 players are on board. Unlike the initial days of the league, there is a good number of players from England as well. Joe Root is the new entry who has expressed his desire to be a part of the prestigious league for the first time.
