“100 Thousand People At MCG Don’t Stand A Chance Against 30k At Chennai”  Says Starc

After losing the match against Chennai Super Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Mitchell Starc got a first hand experience at seeing MS Dhoni’s Fans going berserk over the wicketkeeper-batsman.

KKR had set the goal of 138 runs for CSK to win, Chennai ended up scoring 141/3 leading to a victory by 7 wickets. However the best part for the fans was not just winning, but seeing their favorite, the ex captain for CSK, MS Dhoni on the field. Needless to say, Dhoni had a terrifically grand entry on the stadium, with fans screaming at the top of their lungs to support their team and especially, the player.

“I’m not sure I had heard something like that” says Stark

As the KKR vs CSK match was held in the latter’s home ground Chepauk, Australian player Mitchell Stark couldn’t hold back his surprise and awe at seeing the crowd so excited for one player. He talked about his experience at LiSTNR SPORT YouTube channel.

Starc said “I am not sure, I have heard anything like that when Dhoni came to bat in Chennai – 100 thousand people at MCG doesn’t stand a chance against 30 thousand at Chennai when Dhoni comes to bat – it’s ridiculous”.

Dhoni entered the pitch moments before CSK’s win

The match had almost come to an end as Ravindra Jadeja had earlier produced a game changing spell at the pitch. Ruturaj Gaikwd was in charge of doing the final run chase, and he was really good at it too.

It seemed that Mahi had just entered the pitch to appease CSK fans who were super excited to see their favourite player walking out to bat for the first time at their home ground for the season. MS also made sure to give Ruturaj the chance to finish the match as he had already been doing well. Ultimately, it was Ruturaj who took the winning shot.

In earlier matches CSK had suffered back-to-back defeats on the road but kept up their perfect record at home.
