The number of T20 leagues that are mushrooming around the world keeps on rising every given day. The emergence of T20 leagues has had both positive and negative impacts on Cricket as a sport.
On one hand, it has provided the opportunity for lesser-known cricketers to earn a name for themselves and has helped them to earn big bucks in rewound leagues like IPL and BBL. On the other hand, it has disrupted the international calendar
But in this article, we won’t talk about that. What we would be talking about is leagues for veteran cricketers that have provided opportunities to the fans who grew up in the 90s to witness their favorite cricketers playing on the field once again.

Road Safety World Series: Started in 2020 Road Safety World Series is supported by the Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports with Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar as the Commissioner and Brand Ambassador of the league respectively.
The goal of the league which comprises retired international players from India Bangladesh Sri Lanka West Indies South Africa Australia and England is to spread awareness about road safety. India Legends have won the first two seasons of the league held so far. The third season which was scheduled to take place last year was postponed due to logistical issues
Legends League Cricket: LLC is a franchise-based IPL-style tournament started in 2022. The league comprises Six teams namely Bhilwara Kings Gujarat Giants Manipal Tigers Southern Super Stars India Capital Urbanrisers Hyderabad.
The league is run by Absolute Legends Sports. Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri is the Commissioner of the league
LLC Maters: Also owned by Absolute Legends Sports. This version of the league consists of three teams Indian Maharajas, Asia Lions, and World Giants played outside of India. The league comprises retired players from India and the rest of the world
Legends Cricket Trophy: Featuring retired cricketers, many of them former internationals. The tournament took place in India from 22 March to 30 March 2023.
The entire competition was played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Ghaziabad. was organized by the Board for Veteran Cricket in India (BVCI) and was broadcast in over 30 countries.
US Masters T10: A Product of T10 Sports Management company known to organize T10 leagues around the world. US Masters T10 is a franchise-based competition featuring veteran international cricketers like Irfan Pathan Robin Uthappa David Hussy to name some. The first season of the competition was held in America in 2023.
