IPL 2024 Purple Cap: Updated After the Rajasthan Royals vs Punjab Kings Match No. 65

 Fans are experiencing the last few matches of the group stage. On the 65th match of IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals faced Punjab Kings at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. In the first innings, they just dominated Rajasthan batters. Punjab skipper Sam Curran dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal in just 4 runs. That was a huge breakthrough. 

After that, Nathan Ellis dismissed Sanju Samson on 18 runs. Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin were making a good partnership. But Arshdeep Singh dismissed Aswin. Harshal Patel got the valuable wicket of Riyan Parag. Sam Curran, Harshal Patel, and Rahul Chahar got 2 wickets each. Arshdeep Singh and Nathan Ellis got 1 wicket each. Depending on their dominating performance, they restricted the opponent to 144 runs. 

Rajasthan’s Poor Bowling:

After struggling with the bat, their bowling woes persisted in the second innings. Trent Boult provided the first breakthrough by dismissing Prabhsimran Singh for 6 runs. Soon after, Avesh Khan claimed the wicket of Rilee Rossouw, further putting the batting side under pressure.

Yuzvendra Chahal played a crucial role by taking two vital wickets, removing Jonny Bairstow and Jitesh Sharma. Avesh Khan ended with figures of 2 wickets for 28 runs, while Chahal conceded 31 runs for his 2 wickets. Boult, maintaining his form, took 1 wicket for 27 runs. The combined efforts of Boult, Khan, and Chahal ensured the opposition’s struggle continued throughout their innings and registered a 5-wicket win.
