Chennai Super Kings team is expected to league Indian on August 21. The team has been busy in a short camp in Chennai for the last few days and is the only IPL team to have gone through such a process before leaving for UAE. Dubai will be the base camp for Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s IPL team. Shane Watson who will be joining the squad in Dubai posted a picture from plane on Instagram as he is leaving for his destination. His caption reads, “On my way to another exciting @iplt20 with @chennaiipl. This world is very different nowadays but we all have to do our part to stay safe and look after each other. #superexcited #newexperience”.

IPL teams start leaving for UAE

Kings XI Punjab became the first team to leave for UAE on Tuesday. KL Rahul and Mohammed Shami shared some exclusive photos of the Punjab team from flight. Rajasthan Royals also left on Tuesday and the franchise did not forget to give a reminder to fans about the same in the morning. The Rajasthan Royals players were seen wearing PPE kits while arriving at the airport for their flight. Royal Challengers Bangalore also tweeted and shared the excitement with fans.

The IPL was scheduled to begin from March 29 but due to the pandemic, everything had to be postponed. Even after trying hard, amid increasing numbers of the COVID-19 cases in India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to move out the IPL to the UAE for this year.

The tournament will be now a 53-day long tournament which is scheduled to begin on September 19. The final match will be played on November 10.
