India and Australia will clash horns against each other in the fourth and final test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad starting on 9th March, Thursday. The match promises to be a very exciting one as Australia put on a clinical performance in the third test at Delhi to make the series 2-1.
Steve Smith led the side beautifully in the absence of their regular skipper Pat Cummins who has flown to Australia to meet his ailing mother. Australia beat India by 9 wickets with the match ending in the first session of the third day. India failed to cross the 150 runs mark in both innings whereas Australia got the lead of 80+ runs in the first innings. Nathon Lyon was the star performer for Australia as he picked 11 wickets in the game, 8 alone in the second innings.
India sweat hard
India were seen grinding hard on 7th March in the nets ahead of the big clash. The Indian team is yet to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship. New wicketkeeper batter KS Bharat was seen toiling hard in the nets as he was seen batting with full focus. There is added pressure on the Andhra batter due to a string of low scores in the three matches. Axar Patel was also seen doing his usual warmups followed by a net session.
On the first day of the game, PM Modi and his Australian counterpart will go to the Narendra Modi Stadium. They will watch the first hour of action, according to Fox Sports, before leaving for other responsibilities. According to ANI, Australian High Commissioner Barry O’Farell described how PM Albanese and PM Modi watched the game together and discussed how cricket unites the two countries. The stadium is getting ready with posters welcoming both leaders.
Before the first ball is bowled, there will allegedly be an opening ceremony in which the Prime Ministers will take part. According to other reports, kids and families will have roughly 85,000 seats allocated on Day 1 in recognition of their attendance. Due to security precautions, a sizable portion of the stadium will be unoccupied, although as many as 110,000 people may fill it on Day 1.
