Preity Zinta and Akash Ambani were seen having contrasting reactions after Josh Inglis was declared out. Both owners were present for their franchise’s match on Monday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Punjab Kings were just 15 runs short of victory when Mumbai Indians went for a review that successfully dismissed Josh Inglis. Inglis’ innings ended off a delivery from Mitchell Santner, but he was the main force behind PBKS’s successful chase. The wicket also drew different reactions from the team owners, Preity Zinta and Akash Ambani.

Reaction to Inglis’s Dismissal

On the third ball of the 18th over, bowled a flat delivery, which Inglis tried to hit but missed. The on-field umpire gave it a not out, but Santner and MI skipper Hardik Pandya decided to review the decision.

The replays showed three reds, confirming that MI’s review was correct. The third umpire then told the on-field umpire to overturn the decision and send Inglish back. Meanwhile, the big screen showed Zinta and Ambani reacting to the moment. Sitting in the stands, Zinta was seen asking whether the umpire was right. On the other hand, Akash Ambani seemed happy with the decision.

After the match, Zinta was seen chatting with Akash Ambani and Rohit Sharma. They were all smiles while they had a long discussion.

Sealed Spot in Qualifier 1

Inglis’ wicket did not affect PBKS as they chased the target with 9 balls remaining. They made it to the top two and ensured their spot in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025. Josh Inglis (73) and Priyansh Arya (62) shattered Mumbai’s bowling attack and eneded the game with 7 wickets in hand.

Punjab will play the first Qualifier on May 29, either against Royal Challengers Bengaluru or Gujarat Titans. The winner will directly play in the final on June 3.

Mumbai Indians will play the Eliminator on May 30 in Mullanpur. The losing team will then play Qualifier 2 against the losing team from Qualifier 1.
