Preity Zinta’s 2014 PBKS Photo Resurfaces as Shreyas Iyer Ends 11-Year Playoff Drought

An 11-year-old picture of PBKS’s co-owner, Preity Zinta, is going viral on the internet after sealing the Qualifier 1 spot. In the photo, she was in the PBKS team bus with several members of the team.

Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians on Monday and secured their place in the top two. They had already qualified for the playoffs and after Monday sit at the top of the table. Notably, the last time Punjab qualified for the playoffs was in 2014.

Preity Zinta’s Picture Makes a Comeback

Bollywood actress and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has been adding glamour to the IPL since it began in 2008. 17 years later, she still grabs attention whenever she shows up to support PBKS. Over the years, the actress has taken over the internet many times with her charm, showing support to her team.

This time around, when PBKS have sealed the qualifier 1 place, Preity has again gone viral. A 2014 photo has resurfaced on the internet, which shows Preity Zinta in the team bus. In the photo, shared by PBKS’ social media handle on 20 April 2014, Zinta can be seen with Gurkeerat Singh, Parvinder Awana, David Miller and physio Patrick Farhart inside the team bus.

After the match, Preity entered the ground and congratulated skipper Shreyas Iyer as PBKS chased the 185-run target in 18.3 overs. She saw seen hugging Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting. She then spent some time talking to Rohit Sharma and MI owner Akash Ambani.

PBKS Rises to the Top of the Table

PBKS had a slow start in the powerplay. But Priyansh Arya (62 off 35) and Josh Inglis (73 off 42) helped chase the target with 9 balls remianing. The duo accumulated 109 runs off just 59 balls.

Earlier in the match, during MI’s batting, Punjab’s bowlers did an outstanding job. Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, and Vyshak Vijay Kumar took 2 wickets each.
