KL Rahul is looking to make his T20I comeback for India on the Bangladesh tour. His phenomenal form during the IPL 2025 and the Champions Trophy have enhanced his chances of getting selected in the T20I squad.
Indian batter KL Rahul is set to be considered for the Bangladesh tour, featuring 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. He played his last T20I for India almost two and a half years ago. He scored just 128 runs in 6 matches at an average of 21.33. This drop in Rahul’s performance forced the selectors to consider someone else in his place.
KL Rahul is reportedly ready to come back to cricket’s shortest format after impressing everyone with his batting IPL 2025. The development was made after Rahul’s impressive century against Gujarat Titans. The right-handed batter was asked to open the innings, and he justified the choice with an incredible knock.
He scored an unbeaten 112 off 65 deliveries, laced with 14 fours and 4 sixes. He also scored a 77-run knock against Chennai Super Kings and an unbeaten 93 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Rahul also scored a fifty against Lucknow Super Giants. In 11 matches, he has scored 493 runs with 1 century and 3 half-centuries. He is currently the lead run-getter for Delhi Capitals.
The selectors are reportedly set to call Rahul back to the T20 format after he showed his prowess in the game. As per reports, he will be contention to play the T20I series against Bangladesh in August.
India is set to tour Bangladesh this year in August for 3 ODIs and as many T20Is. Rahul has not played a T20I for India for more than two years now. Rahul’s last appearance in the format was in the 2022 T20 World Cup. So far, Rahul has played 72 T20Is for India and has scored 2265 runs with the help of 2 centuries and 22 fifties.
