The biggest festival of Indian Cricket, the Indian Premier League 2024 will start on 22 March 2024. It consists of 10 teams, with 7 home and 7 away games played by each team. The teams in the top 4 will qualify for the playoffs.
There had been discussions that the second half of the IPL 2024 will be held in Dubai due to Elections in India. However, BCCI clarified that the whole IPL season will be held in India only. BCCI is yet to announce the full schedule of the IPL 2024. They have declared half schedule as of now. BCCI will soon roll out the full schedule as the election dates are announced.
The first 21 matches of IPL 2024 feature four double-headers, with two scheduled on the opening weekend. The action kicks off on Saturday afternoon with the Punjab Kings (PBKS) facing off against the Delhi Capitals (DC). This will be followed by an evening match between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The excitement continues on Sunday afternoon in Jaipur, where the Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Moreover, The weekend concludes with a clash between last year’s finalists and the 2022 champions, the Gujarat Titans (GT), and the five-time winners, the Mumbai Indians (MI), on Sunday night. Additionally, the evening Games will start at 7:30 PM while the afternoon games will start at 3:30 PM.
The 17th edition of the TATA IPL 2024 will kickstart on 22nd March between the 5-time IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Cheapuak Stadium in Chennai at 7:30 PM IST.
The Final of IPL 2024 will be take place on 26th May 2024 possibly at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The venue of the Final is yet to be announced by the BCCI.
