Yashasvi Jaiswal created a buzz on social media with a heartfelt Instagram post after Rajasthan Royals ended their IPL 2025 campaign. The post made many fans wonder if Jaiswal was planning to leave the team.
After Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings in their final league match, Jaiswal shared a post on Instagram. In it, he thanked the Royals and wrote phrases like “grateful for the journey” and “whatever the future brings.” This led many fans to believe that he might be parting ways with the franchise he has served for six seasons.
Jaiswal had another strong season. He scored 559 runs at a strike rate of 159 — the highest for RR in IPL 2025. Despite his good performance, RR finished ninth on the points table with only 10 points in 14 matches.
Fans reacted quickly to Jaiswal’s post. Some asked him to stay with Rajasthan Royals, while others speculated that he could join Kolkata Knight Riders. A few fans even welcomed him to KKR and suggested he might become their next captain.
Noticing the reactions, Jaiswal later edited his post. He added an Indian flag after the phrase “on to the next challenge” and changed “grateful for the journey” to “continue to be grateful.” This edit hinted that he was referring to his next assignment with the Indian Test team, not a team switch.
There have been reports of issues within the Rajasthan Royals camp. Rumours of a rift between captain Sanju Samson and coach Rahul Dravid made headlines. Although Dravid denied any such problem, fans were unhappy when the team made Riyan Parag the stand-in captain instead of Jaiswal.
Jaiswal also had an uncertain moment recently in domestic cricket. He took a No Objection Certificate from Mumbai to move to Goa for more leadership opportunities. But he later changed his mind and stayed with Mumbai.
Now, Jaiswal will shift his focus to the upcoming Test series in England. With Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retiring from Test cricket, Jaiswal is one of the few confirmed names in India’s top order. He will also play a first-class match for India A against the England Lions before the main series begins.
