Suryakumar Yadav Offers Umbrella to Harsha Bhogle During Rain-Soaked Presentation

Mumbai Indians’ batter Suryakumar Yadav drew attention to himself through a simple yet touching gesture. He shared his umbrella with the broadcaster during the post-match presentation.

Mumbai Indians booked their place in the IPL 2025 playoffs after defeating Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. Suryakumar not only gave the best performance from MI’s side but also impressed his fans with a heartfelt gesture after the match. He stole the spotlight with his bat as well as with his generous act.

Suryakumar’s Kind Gesture

Suryakumar arrived for his post-match interview with an umbrella in hand, as light rain began to fall over Wankhede on Wednesday night. Instead of using the umbrella just for himself, Surya offered to share it with Harsha Bhogle, who was hosting the post-match presentation. Surya shielded both of them while speaking about his stunning knock.

“Was important for a single batter to bat till the end,” Suryakumar said in his post-match interview. “We knew there was one over of 15–20 runs somewhere, so we had to wait till the end. The way Naman came in and shared that energy with me was also a turning point.”

Player of the Match

Suryakumar was adjudged the player of the match as he smashed an unbeaten 73 off just 44 balls. It was a well-earned player of the match award for Suryakumar. MI was struggling at 132/5 after 18 overs before the right-handed batter charged with his bat. He scored an unbeaten 73 off 43 deliveries, laced with seven fours and four sixes.

In the last two overs, Naman Dhir and Suryakumar yielded 48 runs, which helped MI put 180/5 on the scoreboard. The additional runs in the last two overs gave the MI bowlers a chance to defend their target.
