Indian batter Smriti Mandhana has moved up to second place in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings. She rose after her incredible performance in the tri-nation series, including India, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
Opener Smriti Mandhana has risen in the ICC rankings of Women’s ODI batting. She has clinched the second spot following her remarkable performance in the tri-series against Sri Lanka and South Africa.
Mandhana last achieved the top ranking for ODI batters in 2019. She was in excellent form during the recent matches against Sri Lanka and South Africa and played a key role in India’s triumph in the series.
Mandhana finished as the second-highest run scorer of the series with 264 runs from five innings at an average of 52.80 with one hundred and one fifty to her name. She scored a brilliant 51 (63), with six boundaries, against South Africa in the final league match.
She further slammed a powerful knock of 116 (101) in the final against Sri Lanka to help India put up a massive score of 342/7 in 50 overs, which proved difficult to chase for the opposition.
Sneh Rana, who was the Player of the Series, also climbed four places in the ODI bowling rankings. She rose to the 34th position with 440 points to her name. She finished the series with 15 wickets in 5 innings at an average of 14. Her best figure was of 5/43 against South Africa.
Deepti Sharma also moved up one place to the fifth position in the rankings for all-rounders with a rating of 353. She scored 146 runs in 4 innings and took 5 wickets.
