Sai Sudharsan played the innings of his IPL career, remaining unbeaten on 108 off 61 balls, while skipper Gill supported him with a classy 93 off 53 deliveries*. The Titans looked in complete control throughout the chase, especially after overcoming a slow middle phase between overs 7 and 10. They picked the right moments to attack and sealed the game without losing a wicket.

With this win, GT now sits at the top of the table and is in a strong position to secure a home playoff with two league games remaining. Sudharsan’s performance also pushed him to the top of the Orange Cap leaderboard, with 617 runs in 12 innings.

Speaking after the match, Sudharsan highlighted his mental clarity and focus on finishing games as key to his performance.

“I’ve started to believe a bit more. Mentally I’m more free and expressive now. In previous games, I got out trying to force things. Today, I was more aware and took the game deep,” he said.

Sudharsan praised the partnership with Gill, pointing out their strong communication, strike rotation, and match-up awareness as critical factors in their success.

GT batting coach Parthiv Patel lauded the pair’s approach, calling it “low-risk, high-reward” cricket.

“They know their game. They hit boundaries without taking big risks. What people don’t see is the hard work they put in to strengthen the basics. Their chemistry is top class,” Parthiv noted.
