India pacer Prasidh Krishna opens up about overcoming nerves, adapting to a new role, and the leadership driving Gujarat Titans’ success in IPL 2025.

Krishna Regains Purple Cap With Clinical Spell

Gujarat Titans pacer Prasidh Krishna admitted he felt a wave of nervousness heading into IPL 2025. This is after missing the previous editions due to injury. But the 28-year-old has since silenced doubts with consistent performances, most recently taking 2 for 19 in four overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad—a match-winning contribution that helped him reclaim the Purple Cap.

“It was a new role for me, but it felt familiar thanks to the experience I gained bowling in 50-over cricket,” said Krishna in a video on iplt20.com. “Learning to bowl the fifth and sixth overs of the powerplay has helped me transition into this role.”

The Titans defeated SRH by 38 runs in Ahmedabad to climb to second in the points table with 14 points, just behind table-toppers Mumbai Indians.

Clarity, Preparation, and Support Drive Confidence

Krishna credited the team’s early preparation and strong support system for the smooth execution on matchdays. “The practice sessions even before the tournament began were top-notch. Everyone’s putting in the work behind the scenes, and it’s paying off.”

He also praised the guidance of captain Shubman Gill and head coach Ashish Nehra for their strategic inputs. “Gill knows exactly what to say, whom to approach, and how to adapt based on conditions. His communication on the field is spot-on. As for Ashish bhai, he reads the pitch, batters, and situations brilliantly, and his one-on-one meetings with bowlers are always insightful.”

Shubman Gill Hails Collective Effort Behind Titans’ Rise

Captain Shubman Gill, who top-scored with 76 against SRH, emphasized that GT’s success lies in collective contributions. “Whether it’s with the bat, ball, or in the field, everyone’s stepping up. A captain is only as good as the team, and our bowlers have been executing plans under pressure beautifully.”

On his synergy with Nehra, Gill said, “He’s full of insights, and I enjoy that. We have a strong partnership that allows us to stay flexible and make smarter decisions during games.”

As the Titans push towards playoff qualification, the resurgence of Prasidh Krishna and the harmony between leadership and performance stand out as pillars of their 2025 campaign.
