Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stalwart, revealed his hilarious roommate preferences during a light-hearted meet-and-greet ahead of their much-anticipated clash with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
When asked who he would not want as a roommate, Kohli instantly named young RCB batter Swastik Chikara.
“Because he does not leave me alone, so definitely not him,” Kohli laughed.
The 20-year-old Chikara, who gained fame with a hat-trick of centuries in the 2023 UP T20 League, has been often spotted shadowing Kohli on the field, carrying drinks and engaging in pranks. Their camaraderie has become a running joke among fans online.
On the flip side, Kohli expressed his desire to share a room with wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma.
“One guy I think is really funny, but he has not opened up with me properly, is Jitesh. I want to see that raw, fun side of him. He has that mischief in his eyes,” said Kohli.
Kohli also praised Jitesh’s “street-smart” cricketing brain, highlighting his instincts and creativity on the field.
Jitesh has scored 121 runs in seven innings for RCB this season and has impressed with his agility and energy behind the stumps.
Virat Kohli is currently the third-highest run-getter of IPL 2025, amassing 443 runs in 10 innings at an average of 63.28 and a strike rate nearing 139. He has notched up six half-centuries, with a best of 73*.
RCB sit second on the points table with seven wins from ten matches and will look to extend their momentum as they take on CSK in a high-octane Saturday fixture.
RCB, under Kohli’s experienced guidance and strong form, currently sit second on the IPL 2025 points table with seven wins in ten matches. The team will face arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in a high-stakes encounter at home this Saturday, with playoff qualification in sight.
