MS Dhoni Flies to Ranchi After IPL 2025 Suspension

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been suspended for a week. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took this decision due to rising tensions at the India-Pakistan border. Following the announcement, MS Dhoni was seen boarding a flight to Ranchi, his hometown.

Dhoni Travels With His Family

A fan page on Instagram shared a video showing MS Dhoni traveling with his family. The video quickly became popular online. Other passengers on the flight were excited to see the World Cup-winning captain and tried to take pictures and videos.

CSK Out of Playoffs

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a disappointing season. They won only three out of twelve matches and were knocked out of the playoff race. In the middle of the season, Dhoni returned as captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad got injured. However, CSK could not recover from their poor start.

They lost four of their first five matches. Even with Dhoni’s experience and leadership, the team failed to gain momentum.

Dhoni’s Stats in IPL 2025

Dhoni played 12 matches this season. He scored 180 runs with an average of 25.71 and a strike rate of 140.62. His highest score was 30 not out against Delhi Capitals.

In CSK’s last game before the break, he scored an unbeaten 17 runs. His calm finish helped CSK beat Kolkata Knight Riders by two wickets at Eden Gardens.

Dhoni Talks About His Future

After the match against KKR, Dhoni spoke about his plans. He said that he will take 6–8 months to decide whether he will play next year. He also thanked fans for their continued support.

“I am 43 years old. I play only for two months in a year. After the IPL, I need to work for the next 6–8 months and check if my body can take this pressure,” Dhoni said in the post-match interview.

Dhoni added that he has not made any decision yet. He praised fans for their love and affection.

The suspension of the IPL has given players a short break. Fans now wait for the league to resume. There is also curiosity about Dhoni’s future and whether this will be his last season.
