Kuldeep Yadav was seen arguing with the umpire after a decision did not go in DC’s favour. The heated display from Kuldeep prompted skipper Axar Patel to intervene and calm him down.
Delhi Capitals’ spinner Kuldeep Yadav boiled over a decision by the umpire during their match against Gujarat Titans. He snapped at the on-field umpire after an LBW appeal went in Sai Sudharsan’s favour. The stump mic caught a few words, enough to indicate his level of frustration.
The incident occurred on the first ball of the eighth over, where Kuldeep bowled a perfect googly. The ball hit Sai Sudharsan on the front pad. Despite the loud appeals from DC’s players, the umpire stood there unmoved. At Kuldeep’s request, Delhi’s captain Axar Patel decided to take the DRS.
Kuldeep charged towards the umpire and started gesturing over the decision. The stump mic caught him saying, “Agar umpire’s call hua toh…,” and the rest was drowned by the noise in the stadium. It was visible that the spinner was displeased at the decision.
The replays showed that the ball was just clipping the leg stump on the umpire’s call. Axar had to calm Kuldeep down, while Faf du Plessis also came running in to get a close look at the matter.
KL Rahul carried DC to 199/3 with his phenomenal 112 not out off 65 deliveries. However, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill easily chased the target in 19 overs without giving away any wickets.
Meanwhile, GT sealed their place in the IPL 2025 playoffs by defeating DC on Sunday. Their win also allowed RCB and PBKS to qualify for the playoffs. This result means that DC, Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are in the fight for the final playoffs spot.
