Kolkata Knight Riders Visit Maa Kamakhya Temple Before Crucial Match Against Sunrisers Hyderabad. As IPL 2024 heads into the playoffs, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have turned to divine intervention for good fortune. The team, led by Shreyas Iyer, finished at the top of the points table with nine wins in the league stage. Ahead of their Qualifier-1 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, several KKR players visited the Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati to seek blessings.
The visit to the temple took place after KKR’s last league match against Rajasthan Royals was canceled due to rain on Sunday, May 19. Among the players who visited the temple were Nitish Rana, Harshit Rana, Ramandeep Singh, and Venkatesh Iyer. The players bowed their heads and sought divine blessings to fortify their spirits before the crucial match.
The Qualifier-1 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, May 21, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match will begin at 7:30 PM IST. The losing team in this match will have another opportunity to reach the finals by competing in Qualifier-2.
KKR had a strong showing in the league stage, winning nine out of 14 matches. The team started the tournament with a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad and maintained consistent performance throughout. However, three of their matches were affected by rain, with two being canceled and remaining inconclusive. The matches against Gujarat Titans on May 13 and against Rajasthan Royals on May 21 were particularly impacted by the weather. The team faced losses against Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Punjab Kings.
With the blessings from Maa Kamakhya Temple, KKR players are geared up for their crucial match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Fans are hopeful that the divine intervention will aid the team in securing a spot in the IPL 2024 finals.
