Heinrich Klaasen Scripts History with SRH’s Fastest IPL Century

Keeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen has become the fastest centurion for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 33-year-old slammed an unbeaten 105 off 39 deliveries in their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday.

The South African batter set the Arun Jaitley Stadium on fire with his blazing 37-ball century, featuring seven fours and nine sixes. It was his first century this IPL season, and with this century, he broke multiple records, for himself and the team.

Klaasen Slams Fastest Century for SRH

Notably, it was the fastest century by an SRH batter in IPL history. The previous record was of 39 balls, held by Travis Head, while Klaasen reached this milestone in just 37 balls. This performance also tied him with Yusuf Pathan for the third-fastest century in IPL history. Only Chris Gayle and Vaibhav Suryavanshi have got to the three-figure mark faster than Klaasen in the IPL.

Klaasen Helps SRH Post Their Third-Highest Total

Heinrich Klaasen was Hyderabad’s costliest retention before the mega auction. But he struggled to perform for most of the season. However, he ended the season on a high note.

On Sunday, he went to bat at No. 3 as the team wanted to get an early start. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head accumulated 92 runs in 6.5 overs. The right-handed batsman reached his hundred on the last ball of the 19th over by taking a double. He remained not out with 105 runs in 39 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 269.23 and brought SRH to 278/3.
