Gujarat Titans’ (GT) wicketkeeper-batter, Jos Buttler, is not playing in their clash against the Mumbai Indians. Keep reading to find out why Jos Buttler is absent from today’s match.
Jos Buttler is not playing for GT in the Eliminator game against MI at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur. Buttler has returned to England as he is part of the squad that is currently taking on the West Indies in three ODIs and three T20Is.
He played all 14 matches of the league stage but left India before the playoffs. Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis has replaced Buttler in GT’s playing XI.
“We would’ve chased. If someone would’ve said at the start of the season that we would’ve qualified, we would’ve taken it. Boys are very excited to be able to come back here in Chandigarh, it’s my home town. This game is no different for us, no pressure of the knockout game or anything. Two changes – Mendis comes in for Buttler and Washington for Arshad,” Gill said during the toss.
Jos Buttler has had an incredible stint in his first season for GT in IPL 2025. He scored some crucial innings batting at No. 3, instead of his opening position.
He amassed 538 runs in 14 matches at an average of 59.78 and a strike rate of 163.03. He scored five fifties with a highest score of 97*.
