Mumbai Indians’ (MI) bowler Deepak Chahar has been dropped from their clash against the Gujarat Titans. Keep reading to find out why Deepak Chahar is absent from today’s match.
Mumbai Indians will be without the services of their swing bowler for the Eliminator against GT at the New PCA Stadium. The bowler was struggling with an injury and was seen limping upon Mumbai’s arrival in Mullanpur.
In Chahar’s absence, Mumbai brought Raj Angad Bawa into the playing XI. Richard Gleeson was included, marking his debut for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
“We’re going to bat. Looks like a different track to yesterday. Bit of less grass. Big game, scoring runs and defending would be nice. We all are aware, for the last 9 games, we have been playing it like a knockout. Really need to turn up today and focus on the things which we can control. We’ve got three changes: Jonny comes back, Gleeson makes his debut, and Raj Angad Bawa plays,” Hardik Pandya said during the toss.
Chahar had a mixed IPL season, with flashes of brilliance but struggling with consistency. He managed to pick 11 wickets in 14 matches with an economy rate of 9.17. His best performance with the ball came against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he took 2/12 in 4 overs.
Although inconsistent, Charar’s absence was felt by MI, as they had to change their bowling strategy.
