Cricket and Bollywood, the relation of these two goes back a long way. Many cricketers have married Bollywood actresses in the past and the latest addition to the list is Zaheer Khan. The former Indian fast bowler is set to tie the knots with the Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge later this year. The couple got engaged in the month of April this year and will get married in the month of November.
“Zaheer and Sagarika are all set to tie the knot in November and their wedding reception will take place on the 27th of the same month. There could be two ceremonies — one each in Mumbai and Pune. Close friends and family have been informed in advance to save the date,” quoted the Bombay Times.
Sagarika had revealed that Zaheer had proposed him during the Indian Premier League earlier this year. She said she was always aware that the cricketer was going to ask her to get married but didn’t know when that would happen.
“I always knew Zaheer was going to propose but didn’t know it would be in the middle of the IPL! My mom and dad are very happy. Zaheer has interacted with them a lot and even they knew it would happen, just that nobody knew when. That was definitely a surprise for me. For any good occasion, I think the right time is when you feel it. I am sure he found it right enough to do it,” claimed Saagarika Ghatge.
Zaheer to play IPL next year
Zaheer Khan was in the news before as there were reports that he was gearing up for the next season of IPL. Harsha Bhogle had revealed in a pre show on television during India’s tour of Sri Lanka that the pacer was sweating it out in the gym to get ready. If it indeed happens, it will be the first time that he will take the cricket field as a married man.
