Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Virat Kohli fans have come together to pay a tribute to the legend. Fans have taken an amazing initiative, requesting everyone to wear Test whites at RCB’s next match to honour Virat’s glorious Test career.
Virat Kohli announced his retirement from test cricket on Monday and shocked the entire cricketing scene. His fans were left emotional after learning of the news.
RCB fans, in a heartfelt tribute to their ‘King’, have planned something special for their home game. RCB fans are calling on supporters to turn up in white for the next RCB match in Chinnaswamy against KKR on May 17.
This all started when an X user made an emotional appeal, “Bengaluru guys, you have one job to do — SPREAD THE WORD”
“He made so many of us fall in love with Test cricket, and even though I’ll never get to see him play in whites live, I just want him to know how deeply loved he was in his favourite format,” the post read.
“Please think about it and help us make it real. It would mean the world to many of us. I even made a template. I also think we can raise fund to give away the jerseys outside Chinnaswamy. That’s our best chance. Even if not jerseys plain white tshirts should do,” the post further read.
The idea went viral, with fans showing support. Many called on people to help create a ‘white ocean” at Chinnaswamy.
“Come on guys… we should be able to spread this,” wrote one user.
Some fans suggested raising funds for providing test jerseys or white tshirts outside the stadium ahead of the match. “Even plain white T-shirts will do — we just want to make this happen.”
As Virat did not get a farewell test, this initiative, if successful, could become an unforgettable send-off for the legendary Virat Kohli.
