Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are riding a wave of momentum in IPL 2025, having stormed into the playoffs with a strong all-round performance. Leading them from the front is Rajat Patidar — not just with the bat, but also with his leadership and calm presence in the dressing room.
Speaking on JioHotstar’s show Superstars, Patidar opened up about what’s clicking for RCB this season. While the team’s on-field execution has been sharp, Patidar credits their off-field bonding and environment as a game-changer.
“The vibe and environment in the dressing room is really good. We have great team bonding activities and work well together, which helps us get to know each other better,” Patidar said.
He also highlighted how even those not in the starting XI play a big role in keeping the spirit high.
“Even beyond the playing XI, the rest of the squad takes initiative, communicates openly, and has fun. It’s a positive atmosphere, and since we’re getting good results, everything feels like it’s going well.”
While many franchises have thrived at home, RCB have turned heads with their unbeaten away run this season. Patidar shed light on the team’s mindset heading into these matches.
“Whenever we play away games, we don’t go in thinking we’ll definitely win. But what has worked is that every player has played their role well and assessed the conditions and situations smartly,” he said.
RCB have prioritized strategy, role clarity, and detailed planning — including discussions around worst-case scenarios.
“The preparation has been solid. That’s why the results have been good. RCB’s batting has always been a strong point over the years,” Patidar concluded.
With a confident squad and positive momentum, RCB look well-poised for a strong finish to their 2025 IPL campaign.
