Lucknow Super Giants’ vice-captain Nicholas Pooran was seen enraged in the dressing room on Monday. During the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pooran reportedly almost shattered a glass in the dressing room while talking to one of his teammates.
Lucknow Super Giants lost their seventh match of the season by 6 wickets on Monday. They also got knocked out of the playoff race for the IPL 2025 season.
LSG started strongly with the bat, putting up a total of 205 runs for 7 wickets. Mitchell Marsh scored 65, Aiden Markram added 61, and Pooran also added 45 off 26 balls.
The incident took place during the final over of Lucknow’s innings. Pooran slipped trying to take a second run and then got run out trying to sneak in a quick run. SRH wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan hit the stumps directly, and Pooran was out.
Pooran was seemingly upset by his dismissal. Cameras showed him throwing his gloves in frustration in the dressing room after the team’s last batter, Abdul Samad, got out. He was seen almost shattering a glass and making animated gestures. He was then seen talking to LSG captain Rishabh Pant.
Despite putting up a strong total of 206 on the scoreboard, Lucknow could not defend the target. SRH’s powerful batting helped them win in 18.2 overs. Abhishek Sharma scored 59 runs off just 20 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen added 47 runs from 28 balls. SRH chased the target with ease and won the game by six wickets.
This loss means that LSG is officially out of the race for the playoffs in IPL 2025. It the the fifth team in the tournament to be eliminated.
