Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka took to social media after his team’s exit from IPL to share his thoughts. He highlighted the learnings from the campaign and hoped for a positive end to the campaign.
Lucknow Super Giants made to the headline for all the wrong reasons in last IPL. The pictures of interaction between KL Rahul, former LSG captain and Sanjiv Goenka did not give positive impressions. Fans criticised the franchise for not giving the fair treatment to the captain and the national team player. Therefore, whenever the camera showed Goenka and Rishabh Pant, current LSG captain after the games this year, the pictures became viral in no time.
LSG roped in the wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant for a whooping INR 27 crore in the mega auction ahead of IPL 2025. Pant expectedly became the captain, and all eyes started instantly look for the owner-captain duo after every loss of the team this season. On Monday, a loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad, put Lucknow out of contention of IPL 2025. No wonder pictures became viral, and everyone started talking about future of the franchise once again.
Meanwhile, the owner took to the social media and shared picture of him alongside the captain. He wrote, “It’s been a challenging second half of the season, but there’s much to take heart in. The spirit, the effort, and the moments of excellence give us a lot to build on. Two games remain. Let’s play with pride and finish strong. #LSGvsSRH.”
Meanwhile, after the defeat Pant said, “We knew we had gaps to fill because of injuries.
As a team we had decided not to talk about it. But it became to close the gaps. The way we planned the auction, if we would have had the same bowling, the story would have been different.”
He added, “Sometimes things go your way, sometimes they don’t. We take pride in the way we played and will look at the positives.”
