Punjab Kings (PBKS) are set to welcome four overseas players ahead of their final league games in IPL 2025. Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, and Kyle Jamieson will link up with the squad on Tuesday, May 20. All four will be available for selection immediately and could feature in PBKS’ next game against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, May 24.
The timing of these arrivals is crucial. PBKS have already secured a place in the IPL 2025 playoffs — their first since 2014 — and are now pushing for a top-two finish. The return of experienced internationals like Stoinis and Inglis, along with new faces Hardie and Jamieson, provides the side with depth and flexibility in both batting and bowling departments.
Stoinis and Inglis have already played limited roles this season. Stoinis has scored 82 runs in seven innings at a fiery strike rate of 167.34. Inglis has contributed 92 runs in six innings, striking at 139.39. PBKS had rotated their overseas players throughout the season in search of a settled middle order, and these players may now get an extended run as the business end of the tournament approaches.
Aaron Hardie and Kyle Jamieson are yet to play a match this season. Hardie, a pace-bowling all-rounder from Western Australia, was bought at the auction for INR 1.25 crore. Jamieson, who came in as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, has also been warming the bench so far. With Marco Jansen set to leave for the World Test Championship final after the league stage, one or both could feature in the playoffs.
PBKS’ overseas roster now includes Azmatullah Omarzai, Xavier Bartlett, and Mitch Owen as well, giving the team plenty of options. After their match against DC, PBKS will play their final league match against Mumbai Indians on May 26.
The Punjab Kings‘ campaign is peaking at the right time. With fresh overseas reinforcements, they are poised to make a serious push for their maiden IPL title.
