Kolkata Knight Riders batter Manish Pandey showed his confidence in the team ahead of the resumption of the IPL 2025. KKR will face RCB at M. Chinnaswamy on Saturday.
The Indian Premier League was suspended for a week, but is not set to resume on May 17. Manish Pandey, at a pre-match press conference, said that he feels the break benefited the players. They used this time to recover and train for the upcoming fixtures.
“It (the mid-tournament break) doesn’t really change much because as professional cricketers, we know what’s to be done. We definitely knew that the tournament would resume, but we didn’t know how soon. But it was good that we didn’t have a lot of break.”
“We were still in the gym and doing our work on the game. The whole team is here and everyone is ready to go, and we are looking forward to having a great game,” Pandey said in the pre-match press conference on Friday.
Pandey stated that this unexpected break could prove beneficial for the team.
“But a break like this could definitely help. I am pretty sure guys would have gone back home and seen their videos, and tried to work on a few things that they didn’t have the opportunity to do. So, I think it should be a good break. As I said, the only thing I am hoping for is to win the last two games and end on a high,” he added.
Speaking on the clash at the pre-match press conference, Manish Pandey said, “Nothing much to lose from here. We could have a better tournament as a team, we were discussing that. We lost a very crucial game in the middle. Two more games to go, so every player in the lineup is eager to perform. Especially in a stadium like Chinnaswamy, and where RCB fans are there, you obviously want to win against these guys.”
For KKR, every match is a must-win to maintain their chance at qualifying for the playoffs. On the other hand, RCB needs just one win to qualify.
