LSG Captain Rishabh Pant Scores Second IPL Ton in Clash with RCB

Lucknow Super Giants’ skipper Rishabh Pant has made an explosive comeback, smashing a stunning 54-ball century. This is Pant’s second century in the Indian Premier League, which came against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Rishabh Pant bounced back from his poor form, slamming a century for LSG at the Ekana Stadium. Unfortunately, for LSG, it came when the team was already out of playoff contention.

Pant’s Blazing Century

Lucknow acquired Pant for a whopping sum of INR 27 crore in the 2025 IPL mega auction. However, he hadn’t delivered much with his bat this season. The bad form drew criticism for the 27-year-old batter.

However, Pant was seen at his best during the fixture against RCB on Tuesday. Pant, who came in to bat at No.3, reached his century in 54 deliveries. In the 18th over, he sent a full delivery from RCB pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar over the cover boundary. His fantastic century was laced with 10 fours and 6 sixes.

After hitting the 100 mark, Pant removed his gloves and performed a front flip, as the crowd erupted with excitement. He ended his IPL campaign with an unbeaten 118 off 61 deliveries, featuring 11 fours and 8 sixes. He was supported by Mitchell Marsh (67 off 37) from the other end.

Poor Form in IPL 2025

Rishabh Pant had an underwhelming season in IPL 2025. He managed to score only 151 runs in 13 matches at an average of 13.73 and a strike rate of under 100.

Pant’s difficulties were not just with his batting. His leadership was also under scrutiny following frequent changes in the batting order and bowling rotations. LSG’s disappointing season also sparked rumours about Pant’s future with the franchise. Dismissing these rumours, Pant reaffirmed his commitment to the team.

In the end, Pant’s form did make a comeback. Unfortunately, it was too late for Lucknow’s 2025 campaign.
