How Harsh Dubey’s Life Changed After One Unexpected Turn and led to India A call up

Harsh Dubey has received his first-ever call-up to the India A squad. The 22-year-old all-rounder from Nagpur will travel with the team to England for three four-day matches against the England Lions. Abhimanyu Easwaran will lead the squad on this tour.

Dubey’s selection comes after a brilliant performance in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season. He took 69 wickets with his left-arm spin and scored 476 runs for Vidarbha. His all-round efforts helped the team win the Ranji Trophy.

Dream Season Turns Into a Big Opportunity

Dubey’s recent form has been outstanding. After the Ranji season, he was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the remaining IPL 2025 games. He is available for three matches in the league stage.

Although SRH are already out of the playoff race, Dubey is focused on making a strong impression.

“Right now, I’m not thinking about the England tour. My focus is on giving my best for SRH,” he told CricTracker after his selection was announced.

Dubey has received a lot of messages and love from fans and friends.

“Aaram se baat karta hoon. Abhi bahut messages hain (I’ll talk calmly, I have many messages to reply to),” he said with excitement.

How a Wrong Turn Changed His Life

Harsh Dubey’s cricket journey started by chance. Years ago, when he was just six, he and his father were looking for Vijay Book Depot in Mumbai. They took a wrong turn and reached Ruby Club by mistake.

There, young Harsh saw boys practicing cricket on the ground. That moment inspired him to take up the sport. He started playing regularly and never looked back.

Dubey believes in staying grounded and trusting the process. He says everything happens according to “God’s plan.” He will also have his Vidarbha teammate Karun Nair with him on the England tour. Nair has also made a comeback and will be eager to perform well.
