Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, has been dropped for their clash against the Mumbai Indians. Keep reading to find out why Yuzvendra Chahal is absent from today’s match.
Yuzvendra Chahal has been left out of PBKS for their last league match against MI at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Although Shreyas Iyer did not mention the reason, it could be assumed that he is missing the match due to an injury.
Chahal also missed Punjab’s previous match against Delhi Capitals due to a small injury. Praveen Dubey playd his fifth IPL match and made his PBKS debut in Chahal’s absence.
“We are going to bowl first. I let the action talk more than words. I would just give them some sort of motivation, and it is their job to go and execute. Jamieson and Vyshak come in. No, you can’t just take it as just another day, you have to keep updating your mind and game, you have to put your best foot forward,” captain Shreyas Iyer said during the toss.
The leg-spinner has claimed 14 wickets in 12 games this season, with his best performance being 4 for 28.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s absence could be a major blow for Punjab Kings, as he brings valuable experience of bowling in Jaipur. Having represented Rajasthan Royals last season, he knows the pitch conditions well.
