Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) batter, Tim David, has been dropped for their ultimate showdown against the Punjab Kings. Keep reading to find out why Tim David is not playing today.
RCB batter Tim David is set to miss the final match against PBKS at the Narendra Modi Stadium. He had suffered a hamstring injury while fielding in RCB’s defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) earlier in the tournament. He missed out on their last league match against LSG and the Qualifier 1 against PBKS.
Rajat Patidar said after losing the toss, “We were also going to bowl. Pitch looks hard, will try to put a good score and put them under pressure. Till now we’ve played good cricket. It’s just another game for us. It’s a big stage, but as I said, it’s just another away game for us. Same team. Pitch is looking good. I think it’s a flat track, a mix of red and black soil.”
Although Patidar did not mention David, he has likely not recovered from the injury and is thus not playing today.
David has played 12 matches in IPL 2025 and has scored 187 runs at a strike rate of 185.15. His best knock this season was an unbeaten 50 runs from 22 balls against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Bengaluru.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru has reached the final for the first time since 2016. They played against the Kolkata Knight Riders and lost the final.
Despite making it to the finals 4 times, RCB has never lifted the IPL trophy. This time, the Bengaluru-based franchise will look to end its 18-year wait and claim the title win.
