With the Indian Premier League set to resume on May 17, there has been another development regarding the league. Reportedly, the final, originally scheduled to be held at Eden Gardens on May 25, will most likely take place at Narendra Modi Stadium on June 3.

The IPL 2025 was suspended for a week amid the cross-border conflicts between India and Pakistan. This decision came following the interruption of PBKS vs DC in Dharamsala due to air raid alerts.

Ahmedabad Likely to Host IPL Final

Ahmedabad, which has hosted IPL finals (2022 and 2023) in the past, is now the frontrunner to host the final match. It can also host Qualifier 2, while Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be held in Mumbai.

Hyderabad and Kolkata were originally scheduled to host the playoffs this season after Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad finished as the winners and runners-up, respectively, last season.

Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Delhi and Lucknow have been named as the venues for the remaining matches of the season in the revised schedule unveiled on Monday.

Revised Schedule

The remaining matches of the IPL will take place between Saturday, 17 May and Tuesday, 3 June. The updated schedule includes two double-headers, both of which occur on a Sunday (18 and 25 May).

The playoffs will take place from 29 May to 3 June according to the revised schedule. Qualifier 1 will take place on Thursday, 29 May and followed by the Eliminator on Friday, 30 May. Qualifier 2 takes place on Sunday, 1 June with the final taking place on a Tuesday (3 June) instead of a weekend slot.

Race for Playoffs

A total of 58 matches have been played this season, with 17 matches remaining (including 4 playoffs and the final).

Gujarat Titans are leading the points table with 16 points in 11 matches. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are second with 8 wins. PBKS and MI follow the two teams.
