Virat Kohli announced his retirement from test cricket on Monday, stimulating reactions from the cricketing world. Cricketers, both current and retired, took to social media to express their thoughts on Virat’s glorious career.
After numerous speculations, Virat Kohli on Monday morning confirmed his retirement from test cricket. Earlier reports came forward that Virat had been contemplating retiring since December 2024 during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Virat made his Test debut on India’s tour of the West Indies in mid-2011. Kohli’s first really big Test series was in Australia, in 2014-15, when he scored twin centuries in Adelaide, and followed it up with centuries in Melbourne and Sydney to aggregate 692 runs for the series at an average of 86.50.
Virat’s test career spanned 14 years, during which he represented India in 123 tests, out of which 68 he captained. He amassed 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85.
