In the latest update of the ICC T20I Rankings for batters, Pakistan’s Babar Azam has risen to the No. 4 spot, following his impressive performance against New Zealand in the recently concluded T20I series. Azam scored 125 runs in 4 matches, helping Pakistan level the series 2-2.
Despite his rise, Azam remains 98 points behind the top-ranked Suryakumar Yadav of India, who continues to hold the No. 1 spot with 861 rating points. England’s Phil Salt is at No. 2 with 802 points, while Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan is at No. 3 with 784 points.
Azam, who was previously ranked No. 1 before being overtaken by Yadav, showed his class with a match-winning 69 in the final T20I against New Zealand. His teammate Fakhar Zaman also made progress, moving up 10 places to 62nd position in the rankings.
In the bowling rankings, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi jumped three places to equal 14th after taking eight wickets in the series against New Zealand. New Zealand’s Tim Seifert also impressed, moving up seven places to equal seventh after scoring 85 runs at a strike rate of 144.06 in the series.
