In the lead-up to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, there have been significant changes in the squad compositions of Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). B R Sharath has joined GT, replacing Robin Minz, while Tanush Kotian has been roped in by RR, replacing Adam Zampa.
Robin Minz, who was bought by GT for INR 3.6 crore in the auction, unfortunately suffered a minor bike accident earlier this month, ruling him out of the season. On the other hand, Adam Zampa, who was retained by RR, opted out of the tournament citing personal reasons.
B R Sharath, a wicketkeeper-batter, has a solid cricketing background, having played 28 T20s, 20 First-Class matches, and 43 List A games for Karnataka. He joins GT for his base price of Rs 20 lakhs. On the other hand, Tanush Kotian, an off-spinning all-rounder, has made significant contributions for Mumbai, especially during their recent victory in the 42nd Ranji Trophy. Kotian has represented Mumbai in 23 T20s, 26 First-Class games, and 19 List A matches. He joins RR also for his base price of Rs 20 lakhs.
With these changes, GT and RR are gearing up for their respective opening matches in IPL 2024. GT will face Mumbai Indians, while RR will take on Lucknow Super Giants on the same day.
The inclusion of Sharath and Kotian adds depth and versatility to the GT and RR squads, respectively. Fans are eager to see how these new additions will perform and contribute to their teams’ success in the upcoming IPL season.
