The fixture between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians has been shifted from HPCA in Dharamsala to Wankhede in Mumbai. This development was reported following Operation Sindoor on Wednesday.

In the early hours of Wednesday, the Indian Armed Forces launched a precision missile strike on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). It included strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke.

PBKS vs MI Shifted to Wankhede

The 61st fixture of IPL, which will take place on May 11, has been successfully shifted to Mumbai. Initially to be held in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, the match will now be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

“The match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings shifted to Mumbai from Dharmshala, as the Airport of Dharmshala has been closed, and the match was scheduled on May 11,” a BCCI source told ANI.

The match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals is also in danger of being shifted to another place as the airlines have cancelled their operations in 11 cities till May 10. The cities include Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Gwalior, Kishangarh, and Rajkot.

“The match schedule between DC and PBKS tomorrow is also in danger as BCCI realises Dharamshala is near the border, and the board is in touch with the government and waiting to get clearance for the match,” the BCCI source added.

As Dharamsala is located near the India-Pakistan border, there is a threat to the venue. So, Punjab might have to play their remaining home matches at another venue.

Operation Sindoor

The Indian Armed Forces successfully struck down nine targets, destroying four in Pakistan, including Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, and Mehmoona Joya, and five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). The operation was jointly carried out by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The strikes on all nine targets were successful, a source revealed.
