Royal Challengers Bengaluru’ pacer Josh Hazlewood crushed PBKS’s batters on his first match back after an injury. He stated that the aim from the first ball of the tournament was to win the title.

RCB defeated PBKS with 8 wickets to spare at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur on Thursday. Winning in the Qualifier 1, Bengaluru sealed their place in the IPL 2025 final scheduled for June 3.

RCB One Step Closer to the Title

RCB’s star pacer Josh Hazlewood returned after missing a few matches for the team due to a shoulder niggle. He was a crucial part of RCB’s game against PBKS as he claimed three wickets. His return couldn’t have been more perfect as RCB won the match and directly went to the final.

Following the stunning win, Josh Hazelwood said, “The main aim is to win the Trophy from the ball one right throughout the tournament – Now one step closer to winning the Tournament.”

‘We’ve worked well as a unit’

During the post-match press conference, Hazlewood reflected on the game, saying that everyone played their role correctly. He also highlighted the importance of planning and correct execution.

“I think as a unit we’ve worked really well. I think everyone knows their role, everyone is different. The combination is great, it’s got some good variation, so everyone’s got different strengths and it’s just about using them at the right times,”

“It’s just clear planning, obviously, first of all, and then clear execution and committing to that delivery you’re trying to bowl. So just nice, clear mindsets. And yeah, we’ve been doing that nicely,” Hazlewood said.

“We’re just trying to have fun out there and stay nice and relaxed and, no matter the situation, whether we’re on top tonight or I think there’s been a few games where we’ve defended the score, we’ve bowled some nice last few overs in games, and it’s just clear planning first of all, and then clear execution and committing to that delivery, you’re trying to bowl, so just nice clear mindsets and, we’ve been doing that nicely,” said Hazlewood.
