Indian fans bring utter disappointment due to this act

The return of Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2024 auction and his subsequent appointment as captain, replacing Rohit Sharma, has stirred a wave of protests among Rohit’s fans. Recently, fans of the star cricketer took their discontent to a college in Mumbai, where they forced the authorities to remove Hardik’s poster.

The incident at Mukesh Patel College in Mumbai occurred during an event where Hardik Pandya was invited. The college management had put up a large poster of Hardik, depicting him as the captain of Mumbai Indians. However, students, who are ardent fans of Rohit, expressed their dissatisfaction and compelled the management to take down the poster.

This incident is the latest in a series of protests by Rohit’s supporters. They have voiced their displeasure on social media and have even taken to the streets with placards demanding Rohit’s reinstatement as captain of Mumbai Indians.

Hardik Pandya, after leading Gujarat Titans for the past two seasons, will be returning to Mumbai Indians. Under his leadership, Gujarat Titans won the final in their debut season in 2022 and finished as runners-up last year. The 30-year-old has also captained the Indian team in T20 cricket in the absence of Rohit.

Hardik, who suffered an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup 2023, made his return to competitive cricket on Monday, February 26, in the DY Patil T20 Cup in Mumbai. He picked up two wickets, conceding 22 runs in three overs, and batted at No.10, remaining unbeaten on 3 off four balls as his team, Reliance 1, defeated Bharat Petroleum Corporation by two wickets.
