Virender Sehwag has heaped praise on Virat Kohli, saying that he is the best when it comes to consistency and overall performance.

Virat Kohli has been one of the most consistent and impactful players in modern-day cricket. Throughout his cricketing career, he has rewritten history many times and achieved numerous feats. Over the years, he has received high praise from legendary cricketers as well as world-class athletes.

Sehwag’s Praise for Virat

Virender Sehwag said, “The Greatness of a player is not judged by the Trophy because Trophies are team achievements – A player is judged by his performance, his consistency, his records, his match-winning runs & Virat Kohli is the No.1 in this”.

Kohli’s fierce and calculated demeanour on the field drew praise from former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, who called him a ‘legend’ for his match-finishing abilities.

“There are batters who can hit better shots than him, maybe a better six or four. But what Kohli does that others can’t is this – he stays not out, scores runs, and ensures his team crosses the line. That’s what makes him a legend,” said Sehwag earlier this April.

Sehwag also highlighted that Virat’s match-winning attitude is what sets him apart from the rest. “When you’re chasing 160-170, strike rate doesn’t matter as much. He has done this countless times – not just for RCB, but for India too, especially in T20s and ODIs.

Virat’s Phenomenal Performance Through The Years

Since his debut in 2008, Virat has built a name for himself through his exceptional performance. Until now, he has amassed a massive total of 25,000 runs in international cricket and 82 centuries. He has won the ICC Cricketer of the Year award multiple times and was the fastest to reach 8,000, 9,000, 10,000, 11,000, 12,000, 13,000, and 14,000 runs in ODI cricket.

Kohli’s personality on the field is characterised by aggression and a desire to win. Though sometimes criticised for being too emotional on the field, his aggressive attitude helps him win matches.
