Gujarat Titans’ pacer Mohammed Siraj expressed his disappointment over teammate Sai Kishore’s misfield error on Sunday. Siraj was visibly angry with the mistake as it allowed CSK to steal extra runs.

A tense moment occurred during the clash between the Gujarat Titans and the Chennai Super Kings. Mohammad Siraj seemed frustrated with an error on Sai Kishore’s part that benefited the opposing team.

Fielding Mishap

The incident took place on the penultimate ball of the fifth over of CSK’s innings. Chennai’s batter pushed a delivery by Siraj towards mid-off and took off for a quick single. GT skipper Shubman Gill caught the ball and aimed for a direct hit. However, the ball hit the stumps and deflected towards midwicket, where no fielder had been assigned. This allowed Chennai to take another run.

Sai Kishore came in from square leg and slid to stop the ball. But accidentally, his knee pushed the ball away, allowing Chennai to sneak an extra run before the ball was thrown back to Siraj. In total, this delivery cost GT three runs.

Siraj was furious and expressed his frustration by screaming at Kishore and throwing the ball towards the wicketkeeper. Gill then intervened to calm him down.

Amid the intense moment between GT’s players, the commentary box provided a moment of comic relief. As the broadcaster replayed Siraj’s reaction, Ravi Shastri could not stop saying, “Kya Miyan!”. This lightened the mood and sparked laughter in the commentary box.

Gujarat Titans aim for a top-two finish

The 2022 season champions, Gujarat Titans, were among the first teams to qualify this season. They are currently at the top of the points table with 18 points in 13 matches. If they win against CSK on Sunday, they will confirm their place in the top two. However, if they lose, they could get pushed down to third position.
